QRG launches European operation with Zaimis appointment

Quick Ralf & Grant (QRG), the specialist insurance group and Lloyd’s broker, today announced it has appointed Ted Zaimis as Director – Greece, effective immediately. He will be based in QRG’s new office in Piraeus, Greece, QRG’s European headquarters, and will report to Head of Europe Dennis Gattinger. Zaimis will also oversee QRG’s Marine division in Greece.

Zaimis joins following the acquisition by QRG of Alpha Victor Marine, a predominantly marine insurance and claims brokerage. He has served in several senior insurance and shipping roles in London, Lloyd’s and Greek markets since 2006, at FirstCity Partnership, JLT, Barbican, Alpha & Omega Marine and TMS Shipping. Prior to his career in the insurance sector, he was in the Hellenic Army as helicopter flight line and battlefield mechanic. 

Zaimis is an accredited insurance practitioner by the Chartered Insurance Institute and holds various insurance and shipping professional and academic qualifications.
